Barry Sullivan (Actor), Norma Bengell (Actor) Movies & TV Editorial Review
Planet of the Vampires, directed by Mario Bava, is a visually arresting sci-fi flick from its era. Despite a low budget, Bava managed to create haunting and stunning images. The film follows the story of a spaceship, The Argos, which lands on a mysterious planet in search of its sister ship. Upon landing, they discover the crew of the other ship dead, but then returning to life. They also encounter a mysterious evil force at work. While the script may be lacking, the film still manages to be a unique and enjoyable experience, especially for fans of the genre. The restored edition of the film is a labor of love, using original elements stored in Rome and regaining the original soundtrack that was dropped in previous releases.
