    Answer: Just has a plastic piece that goes about 2 inches into the foam filter. The plastic piece actually connects to the pump inlet. The foam still collapses over time.

    Answer: The foam filter collects particulate matter- i.e. dust, small debris etc. so you can clean the foam filter and remove the debris from the system.
