The product is made in China and the manufacturer recommends contacting them for replacement blades. The blades may wear out quickly if used aggressively, so this product works best on 8-9" diameter logs and trees where you are shaving the bark and a couple of inches off the outer diameter where you have a rounded surface you are starting on. It may catch/jump if you have a rough corner or an edge like a stump. Though it could work, it will take a little caution on the worker's part. You could sharpen its blades and use it on roots in your yard, but it may take a little extra effort.
