  • Question: I have a 2001 tj, do I need a new speedometer or will my factory work with some adapter?

    Answer: The current one in the jeep will be a plastic gear driven speedo. The kit will update it to a regular speed sensor style, but it comes with the new tone wheel and sensor.
  • Question: Is this usable on the np231C?

    Answer: Yes, this is for the 231.
  • Question: If I don’t need the speedometer sensor, will this work on 231c?

    Answer: Yes, it should. I've installed it on my NP231CHD and just left the speedometer sensor unplugged.
  • Question: What drive shaft would work with this?

    Answer: It depends on what lifts you have. I use the Rough Country double cardan drive shaft and it works great. You could use it with a lift down to 3 inches.
  • Question: What u joint is this set up for?

    Answer: Same as stock U-joints on Jeep drive shaft. The cap size is all the same on Jeeps, but the width might be different depending on what model you have.
  • Question: How do you adjust the speedometer with this unit?

    Answer: You have to buy a speedo healer. I used one for a motorcycle. They range from $20-$100. I bought the speedohealer brand for $75 as it’s the most user-friendly I could find from research.
  • Question: What is the speed sensor application that is included with this?

    Answer: It changes it to a tone ring setup. It comes with the magnetic pickup as well. If you have the old mechanical gear setup like I did in my NP231j, then you will have to get a TJ connector (relatively cheap) and splice it in. The directions come with a matchup for color and pin placement. Love this kit. Best money I ever spent, aside from the new AX15 I put in front of it lol.
  • Question: Will this work on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee np231j?

    Answer: No.
  • Question: Will this fit the np-231 AMC transfer case?

    Answer: Yes.
