What is Café 1820 Classic, Premium Costa Rican Ground Coffee made from?

Café 1820 Classic is made from 100% Arabica coffee beans sourced from high-altitude regions in Jersey. This premium blend is known for its rich flavor profile and is cultivated under optimal conditions that enhance its natural qualities. High altitude not only contributes to unique aroma and fruity notes but also results in a richer, more complex taste. You can enjoy this coffee during your morning routine or when entertaining guests, making it a versatile choice for any occasion.

Is Café 1820 coffee suitable for espresso machines?

Yes, Café 1820 Classic is suitable for use in espresso machines. The dark roast and finely ground texture allow for optimal extraction of flavors when brewed as espresso. The balance of aroma and fruity notes makes it an excellent choice for espresso lovers seeking a rich espresso base for flavored drinks such as lattes or cappuccinos. Simply use the right grind setting to make the most of your brewing method.

What flavor profile can I expect from Café 1820?

Café 1820 offers a distinctive flavor profile marked by its dark roast characteristics balanced with fruity notes. The high altitude at which the beans are grown contributes to a nuanced complexity, providing a smooth finish with a slight hint of sweetness. This coffee is perfect for those who enjoy a bold taste without overwhelming bitterness. Ideal for sipping black or with a splash of cream, it's a versatile cup that caters to a variety of palates.

How should I store Café 1820 ground coffee to maintain freshness?

To maintain the freshness of your Café 1820 ground coffee, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Exposure to light, moisture, and air can degrade the quality of the coffee over time. It’s best to use the coffee within a few weeks of opening for optimal flavor, but storing it properly can prolong its freshness for up to a month or more. Consider measuring out daily servings to minimize exposure to air by reducing the amount taken out of the container each time.

Can I use Café 1820 for cold brews?

Absolutely! Café 1820 Classic makes an excellent cold brew. The dark roast and fruity notes infuse well in cold water, producing a smooth and refreshing drink that is less acidic than hot coffee. To make cold brew, simply mix coarsely ground coffee with cold water in a jar, let it steep for 12 to 24 hours, then strain. This versatile preparation is perfect for warm weather or refreshing afternoon energy boosts.

What is the best brewing method for Café 1820 ground coffee?

Café 1820 can be brewed using various methods, but it shines when made with drip coffee makers, pour-over, or French press methods. For drip coffee, use a standard water-to-coffee ratio to achieve a balanced brew. For French press, steep for about 4 minutes before plunging for full-bodied flavor. Each method brings out the distinctive aroma and fruity notes, allowing you to enjoy a rich cup that suits your preference.

Is Café 1820 organic or fair trade certified?

Café 1820 Classic does not carry specific organic or fair trade certifications. However, it is sourced from reputable farms in Jersey that prioritize quality and sustainable practices. The focus on high-altitude cultivation contributes to the organic characteristics of the beans. While it may not be formally certified, consumers who value quality coffee will appreciate the emphasis on sustainable sourcing methods.

What makes high altitude coffee better?

High altitude coffee, such as the beans used in Café 1820, is often regarded as superior due to the unique growing conditions. At higher elevations, beans mature more slowly, developing denser, more complex flavors. This leads to a more aromatic and flavorful coffee cup. The cooler temperatures and rich soil provide the ideal environment for cultivating exceptional coffee, making high altitude varieties like Café 1820 a favorite among coffee enthusiasts.

What size is the Café 1820 Classic coffee packaging?

Café 1820 Classic, Premium Costa Rican Ground Coffee comes in an 18 oz package. This size is ideal for regular coffee drinkers, providing ample amounts for several weeks of enjoyment, depending on usage. Whether you brew daily or serve guests occasionally, this size balances convenience and freshness, ensuring you have enough for your coffee cravings without compromising quality.
