Cal-Van Tools Brake Adjusting Tools Editorial Review
**** The Cal-Van Tools 762 Sub Compact Brake Cylinder Hone has received mixed feedback from customers, revealing both strengths and weaknesses in its design and functionality. On one hand, many users praise this tool for its affordability and effectiveness, particularly for smaller bore brake cylinders like 1/2 inch. It has been noted that while the grit of the stone may be coarser than preferred, it can efficiently clean out small diameter bores when combined with appropriate lubricants like WD40 and followed up with finer materials such as steel wool. However, significant concerns have been raised about the overall Construction of the hone. Several customers reported issues with the adjustment mechanism, highlighting that it can bind or swivel unexpectedly. The vulnerability of the tool's materials, particularly the use of plastic in critical connection points, has led users to experience breakage during operation, undermining the tool's reliability. Moreover, there are complaints regarding the arm adjustment rivets being improperly secured, which contributes to the difficulty in maintaining control while honing. Overall, while the Cal-Van Tools Brake Cylinder Hone offers a budget-friendly option for certain applications, its quality Construction issues and material compromises have led to dissatisfaction among a number of users, making it a gamble for those needing a dependable honing tool. **
