Rio Grande Games Board Games 503RGG Editorial Review
**Editorial Review of Temporum Board Game** Temporum, the latest creation from Donald X. Vaccarino, the acclaimed designer behind Dominion, has garnered a mixed yet predominantly positive reception among board game enthusiasts. Set within an engaging alternate history framework, the game introduces players to a timeline where they can manipulate events, thereby unlocking various action spaces and creating a unique gameplay experience each time. The use of card decks ensures that no two games ever play out the same, fostering replayability and creativity in players’ strategies. The game is structured to promote quick play, typically completing a session in 15-20 minutes without any sense of rush, a feature that many reviewers highlighted as a significant advantage. The mechanics allow for active participation during each player's turn, minimizing downtime and encouraging player engagement. Reviews note that while early turns involve thoughtful decisions, the final stages can sometimes feel more scripted as plans culminate. However, the brisk pace keeps the gameplay compelling and the interaction lively. Many players expressed their appreciation for the clear instructions and straightforward mechanics, making it easy to introduce new players, even those who may not be seasoned gamers. This accessibility, combined with the ability to play effectively as a two-player game, has earned it praise among couples and smaller gaming groups alike. While a few criticisms arose regarding the lack of player interaction in some aspects of the game, leading some to find it less engaging, the overall Consensus remains that Temporum is a fun game that is beneficial for both casual and avid board game players. With significant replay value and the potential for stimulating competitiveness, it stands out as a worthy addition to any game collection. **
