With a PA10 phono preamp included, it amplifies the audio signal for a more vibrant sound. Its adjustable parameters, such as anti-skating and speed settings, provide flexibility while listening to vinyl records. Whether you're a seasoned audiophile or a newcomer to vinyl, this turntable enhances your listening experience by delivering rich, detailed sound across various genres.

Can I connect the RT85 turntable to my existing audio system?

Yes, the Fluance RT85 turntable can easily connect to any existing audio system. With its built-in PA10 phono preamp, you have the option to connect directly to powered speakers or an external amplifier that doesn’t have a dedicated phono input. This versatility makes it suitable for various setups, whether in a home theater or a simple music corner. Simply plug the output cables into your audio system, and you are ready to enjoy vinyl records.

What kind of speakers should I pair with the RT85 turntable?

The Fluance RT85 turntable pairs exceptionally well with the Ai61 powered 6.5 bookshelf speakers, which are designed to deliver dynamic sound with clarity. Since the Ai61 speakers are powered, they require no additional amplifier, making it a perfect match for simple setup without compromising on performance. For larger setups, you can customize your speaker choice based on the size of the room and your personal sound preferences, ensuring you achieve the desired audio experience.

Is the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge worth the investment?

Absolutely. The Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge is renowned for its fidelity and accuracy, making it an excellent addition to the Fluance RT85 turntable. This cartridge enhances audio reproduction, delivering a warm yet detailed sound profile. Audiophiles appreciate how it captures the nuances of vinyl records, providing an immersive listening experience across various music genres. Investing in good quality cartridges, like the Ortofon 2M Blue, is essential for those looking to elevate their turntable experience.

How does the built-in phono preamp affect sound quality?

The built-in PA10 phono preamp in the Fluance RT85 turntable significantly boosts the audio signal from the vinyl, resulting in cleaner and more powerful sound. This amplification reduces the noise floor, allowing for subtle details in the music to come through clearly. Preamps can vary widely in quality, and the inclusion of the PA10 ensures that you extract the best possible sound from your records without needing an external unit. This convenience leads to a streamlined and enjoyable listening experience.

What kind of maintenance does the RT85 turntable require?

Maintaining the Fluance RT85 turntable is relatively simple. Regularly cleaning the stylus and ensuring the platter is free of dust will keep performance optimal. It's also essential to periodically check and adjust tracking force and anti-skating settings to ensure perfect playback. Performing these basic maintenance tasks helps preserve the lifespan of the turntable and enhances the overall listening experience. Following the manufacturer's recommendations for care can lead to years of enjoyment.

Can I play different vinyl record sizes on the RT85?

Yes, the Fluance RT85 turntable is compatible with various vinyl record sizes, including 33 1/3 RPM LPs and 45 RPM singles. Its adjustable speed settings allow for easy switching between formats, making it versatile for any vinyl collection. This flexibility ensures you can enjoy your entire record library, from classic albums to newer releases, without hassle. Whether you prefer the depth of a full album or the quick excitement of a single, this turntable has you covered.

What makes the RT85 stand out among other turntables?

The Fluance RT85 stands out for its combination of superior build quality, aesthetic appeal, and exceptional sound performance. Its solid wood construction not only provides durability but also enhances acoustic properties, making it a more attractive and functional choice compared to plastic competitors. Additionally, the inclusion of top-tier components such as the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge and PA10 phono preamp further solidifies its position in the high-fidelity market.
