Documentary Editorial Review
**** "Flying the Feathered Edge: The Bob Hoover Project DVD" is an exceptional documentary that delves into the life and achievements of Bob Hoover, revered as one of the greatest pilots in aviation history. This film is a heartfelt tribute to a man whose accomplishments, while celebrated among aviators, often go unnoticed by the general public. Beginning with Hoover's early struggles with airsickness, the narrative highlights his determination and relentless pursuit of excellence in flying. The documentary offers an inspiring depiction of Hoover's journey from a struggling student to a prominent fighter and test pilot during World War II, and ultimately a celebrated air show performer. Viewers are treated to captivating footage of his flying skills, including his renowned performances with his beloved P-51 Mustang, “Ole Yeller.” The storytelling is enriched with interviews from Hoover himself, as well as insights from other legendary pilots, lending a personal touch to his legacy.
