King of Fighters: Maximum Impact (Collector's Edition) - PlayStation 2

The King of Fighters: Maximum Impact Collector's Edition for PlayStation 2 has garnered a mix of enthusiasm and criticism among players, particularly fans of the long-standing fighting game series. Many users appreciate the game's return to a beloved franchise, praising its variety of graphics and smooth controls, which are described as accessible and fluid both for newcomers and seasoned players. The graphics, while reflective of the PS2 era, are Considered among the cleanest, with impressive animations that bring the characters to life. However, the game’s character roster appears to be a significant downside for some. Many players express disappointment at the limited selection compared to previous entries in the series, feeling the game could benefit from a broader range of characters. Additionally, while the gameplay is primarily commended for its responsiveness, the requirement to use the D-pad instead of analog control has left a few players with sore thumbs after extended play sessions. Another sticking point is the voice acting; with English dubs not meeting the expectations of some fans who wished for the option to switch to original Japanese voiceovers. The English dub has been described as “laughable” by certain reviewers, which detracts from the overall experience. Overall, players generally find King of Fighters: Maximum Impact Collector's Edition enjoyable, especially if they approach it with the right expectations. Newcomers can ease into the mechanics and enjoy the fighting experience, provided they have some interest in the characters available. Persistent fans may want to ensure their favorite characters are included before making a purchase. **
